Travel in Australia has quietly become a luxury. Flights, hotels, the long-haul escape you spend half the year looking forward to: the prices crept up while the experience stayed the same. We started BookingClub because we think a good trip shouldn't depend on getting lucky with a sale.

So here's the idea, plainly. Members pay a small monthly fee and get wholesale "mates rates" on hotels and stays, the kind of pricing usually reserved for the trade. On top of that, every paid member is automatically entered into a travel prize draw, every single month. The longer you're with us, the more entries you stack.

This Journal is the other half of that. A travel club should have something to say about travel.

• Deals worth knowing about: when something genuinely good lands, we'll write it up. No manufactured urgency, no "act now."
• Club news: prize draws, winners, new partners, and what we're working on next.

How we write

We write these ourselves, and we write them straight. No filler, no AI-spun listicles, no breathless "you won't believe number seven." If we recommend a hotel, it's because we'd stay there. If a deal has a catch, we'll tell you the catch.

That's the whole promise: useful, honest travel writing for people who'd rather be on a plane than reading fine print.
