The gap comes from a piece of industry plumbing called a Closed User Group. Hotels guard the price the public sees: it sits on the big booking platforms, on Google and on their own site, hemmed in by rate-parity agreements. Behind a login, to a defined group of members, they are allowed to release quieter, lower rates without ever touching that public number. The deeper your tier, the deeper the rate. Tourist members get member pricing for free, Regular Traveller cuts further, and Seasoned Traveller gets our sharpest price on every booking.
